I bought a carton of eggs. I did check in the grocery store and they looked fine there but when I got home and went to use a few I noticed that one egg was completely cracked/yolk coming out of the bottom of the egg, which I did not notice at the store. That egg is on the far side of the carton.
I of course would not use that egg or the ones surrounding it. Are the other eggs safe to eat re: bacteria or should I toss the whole carton? |
| This has happened to me before. I just washed the eggs and put them in a different container. |
| You can use the remaining 11 that aren’t cracked. Only the cracked one is susceptible to bacteria. |
| Also, at the grocery store when I'm looking for eggs at least half the cartons are wet from cracked yolk. Can you get sick from getting that on your hands? |
Novel concept - wash your hands. |
| +1 to the above. All the eggs are fine to eat except the cracked one. No need to throw away the ones surrounding it. Just wash them off and put them in a new container. |
