I'm not sure if I need to worry. DH took DDs to get their boosters. I told him to make sure they got the same thing as they had for the original vaccine. 4 yo DD has had wheezing issues in the past, 6 yo has not. So 6 yo got mist, 4 yo got the shot. Last night, they each got the reverse. DH insists that the clinic told him to do it this way. (Add this to the list of things I should have done myself if I wanted it done right...)
If wonder if there anything I should be worried about? |
| I think you're OK. While it's preferred to get the same vaccine for the booster I think it's OK to get the other. The issue with giving shots for kids with asthma/wheezing is a concern that a live virus could give them an low-grade infection and induce wheezing. I guess just keep an eye on your 4 YO but even if she gets the sniffles it shouldn't be an issue if her wheezing has not been a serious concern in the past. |
| Yikes. It definitely isn't preferable, but it "counts" as the second dose nonetheless. |
