I have tickets to take my 4 and 1/2 year old this year. It’s our first time attending and our time is 4:45-6:45. Ticket says gates open 45 minutes before your time. There is no agenda or time of any events.
For those that have attended in the past, should we arrive early at 4? Are there sign ups for whatever activities they have planned? Will there be any snacks there for the kids or should I bring some for DS? Are backpacks allowed thru security? Any pointers and tips would be appreciated. I’m just hoping to get an idea how to best plan for the event so he gets to do all the fun stuff. It’s likely going to be his one and only WH Easter event. Thanks. |
Omg so many threads on this. Food is not allowed in, but you might be able to sneak it in. Backpacks are allowed but will be searched. Whether there will be food inside is a toss-up. Previous administrations had lots; this one, not so much. There are no sign-ups, you just wait in line for each thing.
Plan to have a miserable time and be pleasantly surprised when some things are actually fun. If nothing else, you can get some cool pics. |
OP, we have tickets for the same time slot. I'm planning on getting there at least half an hour early for security, etc. |

Definitely get there early. The line is looong, and if you get there at the start time you will spend most of the allocates time for the roll waiting in line. |
Half an hour is not early enough. |
