The GOP killed a bill, that Northam supported, to require anyone using a phone while driving to do so hands free.

I care about whether I get killed on the road, a lot more than about whether someone did the moon walk in college.

I knew Northam would survive as Justin Fairfax imploded, because Northam always retained substantial support, including from many of the moderate black Democrats.

The biggest calls for Northam’s resignation were from far left-wing whites and younger black politicians just looking to push out older politicians to advance their own careers and personal fortunes.

People who know Northam personally generally think highly of him, which can’t be said of too many politicians in Virginia. For example, very few people actually like Terry McAuliffe as a person. He’s influential entirely as a result of his overwhelming ambition and access to money.
