I loved both Lady Olenna (GoT) and Dowager Countrss of Grantham (Downtown Abbey), but I wonder who would fair better in a battle of words.

Dowager Countess is a bit sheltered. Both are very witty, well written older women.

Before these two characters, I think the best old woman character was the mom on Golden Girls though she pales in comparison to these two.
