How does one handle taking their kids in these?

We use a bubble bum.

We didn’t use rideshare before my child was old enough to fit in the bubble bum.

I just install as fast as I can. What’s your question more specifically?

Bubblebum

We bring our own if traveling or we drive. Simple. Bublebum is not safe for young kids.

Latch install takes me about 10 seconds — as long as you’re otherwise fast no driver will conplain about that. I do forgo the top tether (front facing) if I’m rushed/it is a low-speed trip.

Infant bucket seats are a snap because you can put it into a stroller when you get to your destination. Once DD graduated to a convertible I stopped taking them. It sucks a lot. We drive way more.

We have a Cosco Scenera Next for our toddler and an ImmiGo for our 4yr old. We just installed them in an Uber the arrivals lane at Dulles and didn’t hold anyone up. We have the kids sit in the front seat and my husband and I each put one seat in while the driver load our suitcases, then we buckle the kids. It takes 2-3 minutes and we have never had a driver complain.

The ImmiGo is not bad if you are going somewhere with lockers or coat check. We only use them to/from the airport, on the plane and then in our rental on vacation. When we aren’t traveling, the grandparents use them to take the kids places in their car.

I have one and it's been great. You can start using it at 3yrs AND 30+lbs. I help my kid into the vest while we wait for the car/cab. Once you are in the car, you need to thread the belt through 3 separate clips. I can do it in about 30 seconds. My super carseat safety maven friend also has one, and it's also good when we are riding together and trying to fit 3 kids across the back of the car.
