Tesla?

We need a second car within the next two months. The previous owners installed an electric charging station in our garage. What’s the current deal with Teslas? Are any of them available to get within 2 months?

In December I know someone who got 3 delivered within weeks.

There was a push to get them out in december bcs the tax credit for tesla is phasing out (also for GM’s bolt). I think how quickly you get one depends largely on whether the car you want to buy matches the one they want to sell.

For example, apparently they are pushing back deliveries of 35k model 3s that have been purchased, but you can get quicker delivery of more expensive versions.

I would look at other cars, like the bolt or leaf (or jaguar or hyundai/kia) although it depends on what you like about tesla.

We love our Volt. Goes 58 miles with just one charge. Has great torque.

They certainly didn’t build a Model 3 to your order in 4 days. I’m assuming you bought one that was on its way and didn’t have a buyer yet. No?

So the Tesla has two different charging options. Find out what your charging station is set up for 110 vs 240.

Anybody with a home charging station for an ev has a 99% chance of it being 240v. There might be some question as to the amperage— 40, 32, or less.

If you are thinking of getting an EV, I recommend test-driving them all. DH started off wanting a Tesla Model X, he's now on his second Nissan Leaf. He was, I think, really surprised by some of the things he didn't like about the Model X and some of the things he does like about the Leaf.
