Re: American Day School in Alexandria VA

I just wanted to take the opportunity to discuss the comment below. I am not sure who posted this comment, however, it is completely untrue. My child has been at the center since it was opened. I have a daughter there who is also 4. There have not been any children in her classroom that have disenrolled. I am very particular when it comes to my child's well being and her level of care when I am not with her. I am VERY happy with the care she is receiving at American Day School. Her teachers are wonderful. She has learned more in the 3 months she has been there than in any other center she has been at. When I talked to the owner, I was told that there is a spanish speaking teacher in each classroom to implement the spanish part of their curriculum. I also think this is great.

I had my 4 year old there, but had to pull her. The center is great, it's new, etc. However, the teachers could not communicate with my daughter. This may not be a problem for someone from the area, or who has worked with a Nanny in the past, etc. My daughter could not understand Spanish and they spoke a great deal of it, often times conversing with one another (teacher to teacher) in front of parents, students, etc. Its not the largest issue by far, just one that we couldn't get past.
