H1N1 booster or just a second shot of the same dose, risks?

Anonymous
I'm spinning off one of the earlier threads where some posters are saying the 2nd shot is just the same as the first and others heard from their pediatricians that it is a different smaller dose for young children?

Is this a situation where it could be just a second dose but for younger children there is less need for a full second dose? Or are there more risks (not sure what these would be) if a child age 5 or 3 received a full second dose instead of a smaller dose? We're not that worried about thirmosol but is there any recommendation against doing two shots with thirmosal for this age group?

I'm not sure what you're asking. It's my understanding that it's the exact same shot --, so, as you put it, the same risks.
