Churchill Elementary

We just found out our dc got accepted into aap. We have the opportunity to go to Churchill or stay at our local school for next year (3rd grade). After speaking with parents at our local school, we have mixed feelings on whether to stay at our local school for aap or go to the center at Churchill. Some of the parents have been unhappy with the math/sciences instruction their 3rd graders have received in the aap program at Kent gardens. If you have had to go through the same decision, could you please share your experience and any pros/cons for either school? We really need help deciding, so any sharing of experience would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe one thing to keep in mind is that most Churchill students will go to Cooper middle school. I assume your dc will go to Longfellow. My dc went to churchill. We were pleased with most teachers there but I didn't like the principle at all.

Ha! The feeling was probably mutual.

Thank you. The principal at Kent gardens is fantastic. We are weighing that as well as our dc’s friends, in making the decision. We have not heard a lot of positive things about the aap program though at the local school.

We are a new Churchill family and have been happy so far. School is diverse.

What is wrong with the principal? I think he is great.
