2019-2020 Lottery Results are up

Oh well, looks like the initial numbers on the website were the actual numbers not the raw numbers. Shut out again. Can anyone speak to the process for registering at one of the schools that's listed for accepting transfers? For new students not current students?

I don't think that is true.....I'm pretty sure they are the raw numbers. It had the same message last year and they were the raw numbers

I heard that the TAG office was still sorting out the TAG eligibility of private school and homeschool kids a few days ago.

I wish the wording on the web page was less cryptic.

They are the raw numbers. I already got my DC’s sibling acceptance letter but she still has a “waitlist” number (albeit a single digit one).

But yes, their website and management and publicizing of the lottery is SO unprofessional and rudimentary. They need to contract this out to a 3rd party and professionalize it like DC has.

What do you mean by raw numbers? What exactly do the raw numbers include?

Raw numbers mean the number at the time of the drawing. So x number of kids with sibling preference get the first numbers (e.g. 1-15), then the first non-sibling would be X+1.
If a program has 80 seats, and say 20 seats are taken by siblings then waiting numbers 21-80 will be offered placement and number 81 would be at the top of the waitlist.

Okay. Thanks. I am not sure how this may affect my child who is applying from outside the PGCPS system for the TAG program in the 3rd grade since I am not sure how much sibling placement comes into play in an off year nor how many people even apply and how many openings they have on an off year. I know it gets harder to get in as the years go on. That’s all I know. It’s all so confusing.

Sibling preference doesn't apply to non-entry years. For TAG entry year is considered 2nd grade. So for 3rd grade sibling preference won't impact you at all. All of the TAG elementary school centers except Accokeek Academy made it through their waitlists last year for 2nd and 3rd grade and they opened back up for applications in July.

Does anybody have any info on how many placements there are for kindergarten? I got the following numbers 11, 55, and 57 and I'm trying to figure out if it's likely my kindergartener will get a placement offer.

It depends on the specific school. Pullen has more places than Foulis.
You can look at last years enrollment data and see how many K slots were at each school.
