| Do travel kids play middle school soccer? If so, what level travel player typically plays? If travel kids don't, why not? |
| Yes they play for their school teams. All levels plays. Many do not play or stop playing because of the time commitment(have to make all the travel team practices), low level of play(frustrating for the better or top team players), practices are next to useless(running laps for fitness), etc |
| Do middle schools in the Fairfax/Vienna area have soccer teams such as Frost, Lanier, Thoreau, Luther Jackson, and Kilmer? |
| Public schools in Virginia don't offer middle school soccer as far as I know or middle school competitive sports |
Not true. Prince William county does. |
Arlington county does |
I've seen girls get injured from over use, poor field conditions and opponents that are overly physical or have poor coordination/technique (foot stomps, ankle kicks, takedowns). Some of these are double edge swords, the low level of play could allow the better or top team player to work on 1v1s or 1v2s, the running laps could improve cardio and endurance. It depends on the player, but most will be exhausted from 2 a days and no breaks. |
The entire state of virginia is not Fairfax County. |
| All of the area private schools offer soccer. My DC has occasionally played for his middle school team but the competition is much lower than B team travel. Travel practice schedule makes it tough to play more han occasionally. |
They offer soccer as an after school program but it's not a team. Just a bunch of middle school kids playing soccer until 4:30 |
uh.. ok |
| Is there any supplemental training for rec middle school kids in the DC area? |
I don't understand your comment. I didn't ask about the entire state of Virginia. I asked about Fairfax. Thanks for offering nothing to the conversation. |
So do you disagree. I don't understand your response? if you disagree, what is the correct answer. Do middle schools in Fairfax County offer competitive sport teams...specifically soccer and basketball. If not, do they offer some sort of after school intra school "league"? If so, where can I find info on that? Thanks |
| MoCo MS soccer is pretty much all travel players and is difficult to make the team. I heard of B and C level players getting cut. |
