Question about getting initial RE bloodwork done

Anonymous
At our first meeting with Dr. Sacks, he told me to come in for blood work on the 2nd or 3rd day of my next cycle. He also said that if it starts on the weekend to just walk in on Monday. As luck would have it, I think CD 2 and 3 will be on a Saturday and Sunday. Do I just go in first thing Monday or do I have to wait until the next month?

I don't see Dr. Sacks, but when I met with an RE last week, I expected CD1 to be Friday. When I asked how to get the bloodwork done, they said do it on Monday. The nurse said it really can be done on CD2, 3 or 4. Of course, Dr. Sacks could be different. I'd call the nurse to confirm.

I have never had to go in over weekend but was told they draw blood Mon to Sat 7:30 to 9:30 am. I believe on Sat you go to the lab downstairs and they take first come first serve. I would call just to double check.

I was told CD#3, and when it fell on the weekend they were there and open on the weekend! The fertility business is not a Mo-Fri operation.

Infertility treatment is absolutely 7 days a week, I even had my first consult on a Sat and then my retrieval fell on a Sun which made my travel to DC area much easier. When I was being evaluated at my first RE office they told me I could come in on Day 2, but my results were worse than on day 3 the following month so I felt strongly that I needed a true day 3 FSH.

f day 2 or 3 falls on the weekend definitely go the dc office of columbia on the weekend -- they're there from 7:30 - 9:30; don't wait until monday if you're missing the day 2 or 3 window. it does make a difference.
