What is the minimum weight & height requirement for a kid to use booster seat? I am thinking to pass my 5 year old convertible carseat to 1.5 year old child, and we need to buy 2 new convertible carseats OR booster seats (maybe high-backed)? My 5 year old is a skinny tall boy.

| My Graco Highback TurboBooster has a recommendation for 38β height and 30 lbs weight. We kept DD in a harnessed Britax until age 5 (42β and 40 lbs). |

| We like Graco tranzitions. It starts out harnessed but converts to a booster. Itβs better to keep the 5 yo harnessed for longer vs switching to a booster yet. |

| "Four and forty [pounds]" is the best practice, assuming a child is otherwise mature enough to sit properly in a booster. I would get a harnessed combination seat, though (harness that converts to a booster) given that you have a 1.5-year-old to hand it down to. Check the expiration dates on your convertibles--they likely won't last you till your little one is ready for a booster, so you'll have to buy another harnessed seat at some point anyway. |

Read the information on the seat. Every seat should include the max/min height and weight, as well as any other information about proper fit.
We bought a harnessed booster that converted to a belt-positioning booster, and my kid grew out of the harnessed portion while she was five. |
