pullups/goodnights making child super stinky...

Anyone else had this happen? My 2 yr old is daytime trained, but wears a pullup/goodnight for bedtime. She wakes up with major odor. Not just the sorta, okay its full of pee and smells like pee odor, but like...a really gross funky smell. We bathe her regularly, and she has no odor when only in undies. I am not sure what to do, its not realistic to bathe her every am before we head out to daycare with her and her siblings (we bath at night). She has no rashes or irritation, and no complaints at all. She is oblivious to the smell. But its legit bad...her brothers never had this. Her body must be reacting to something. If you had this problem, did you find a brand that didnt stank up your kid?

This happens to my 3 year old DS. Giving him a swipe with a baby wipe after taking off the pull-up in the morning helps.

Those things are full of awful chemicals.

We just have to do a shower in the morning. I think if you fill the tub with a couple inches of water and just have her sit in it while you brush your teeth, that would probably work. Give her a soapy washcloth and have her wipe herself off.

Ours has same ish. Morning shower or quick trip under the bathroom faucet with a soapy washcloth.

It’s the goodnight pull-ups. They smell so chemical as soon as you open the package and once even a small urine hits them, they have an awful smell. I quit using that brand and we don’t have that problem anymore. We had to bathe our son every morning too due to horrible smell from the pull-ups. It’s not worth it at all.

I use Amazon gentle bear diapers for night time. She can pull them down if she needs to go potty but she has never once woken up to go potty. (She is three). No gross smell although when they are full there is sometimes a pee smell.

I don't think you need a pull-up for night.

We do pull-ups for night and have also noticed this. We do a quick wipe down and rinse with a soapy cloth or the head to toe wipes. It’s sooo funky.

We use the Target brand pull-ups overnight for my preschooler and I’ve never noticed an odor. I’m sensitive to odors so I feel confident these are worth trying.

Coterie pull-ups don’t smell. Yes they are very expensive but they absorb well and don’t smell.

We honestly just do a quick shower in the morning. Because having my kid be known as the 'pee smell kid' has always been a huge irrational fear of mine.

Also, found that it helps to be somewhat vigilant about making sure he takes off his night pull-up RIGHT away as he's waking up. Because if we don't a lot of the times he'll kind of sneak and pee in it again, before coming downstairs. Even though he knows I really don't like him doing that.

Never had this issue with pampers or Huggies pull-ups

Millie Moon pull-ups are soft and don’t leave a peas stink. They’re essentially pull-up diapers.

I had the same issue. It's not a natural odor like pee. It's a weird, unpleasant odor. I used a wet wash cloth or paper towels and patted dry.

Cotton training underwear and plastic outer cover underwear.
