| We are moving to the McLean area and have to leave our MSI classic team. For both kids, Classic has been a perfect level of play. Both have been in division 1 teams since switching with their teams from rec league. Is there something similar in McLean? Not looking for extensive travel. Not sure how competitive the local rec league is. We have experience in both Takoma and MSI rec leagues when they were younger. |

I think Arlington developmental program (ADP) is similar.
McLean has rec, rec all stars, and travel. At older ages McLean rec teams play in SFL (suburban friendly league.). There are other travel programs that are less selective and don’t travel as far. |
| I have heard that Great Falls Reston has teams that play in the suburban friendly league too. Teams are a step up from rec but less intense than travel. |

SFL teams are lower down than Classic Division 1.
For Mclean, look for any ODSL team or lower division NCSL team. The color system goes green/while/gold/silver. I would look at Silver or Gold. |

Great Falls Reston, Arlington and Vienna are within short driving distance from Mclean (30 min or less) and also offer a range of options from SFL, to ODSL, to NCSL. Arlington will be a little more intense than Mclean, while Great Falls Reston and Vienna are smaller clubs and will be a little more laid back and less expensive. So you have at least four options. |
| try the suburban friendly league. It's so friendly. |
