Our Lady of Victory School, thoughts?

I just drove by, and noticed it. Anyone know anything about the school? What are the chances of any 6th grade openings?

I visited and liked it but didn’t end up applying. The school seems very warm and welcoming and the Principal seems to run a tight ship. I have no idea about admissions for 6th grade but Pre-K and K seemed tough to get into.

Great school. Top notch in all regards except facilities.

A hidden gem. Great teachers and nice families.

Excellent school. Dedicated teachers. Great high school placement. Blue ribbon school. Tops scores in math and English. Small class size. Strong community.

If you want to know the chances for an opening at the school, just call and ask. They are very personable and there are usually one or two openings per class each year.

It is a great school with tremendous focus on each individual student - especially as they prepare to apply to High Schools.

Our neighbor's kids go there. They don't talk much about OLV but their kids are well-spoken and friendly.

From what I saw, almost ZERO diversity, run down facility. Wasn’t impressed.

I visited and disagree about the diversity but agree about the facilities.

I do not have children who attend the school but I find it hard to believe that there is ZERO diversity given the parishioners at Sunday mass.

We moved our child to OLV in part because of the diversity. And, obviously, I am talking about many factors, not only race.

We also were looking for a school that would encourage our DC to be respectful, responsible, proactive and nice. Believe me, this is not something so easy to find.

The facilities are not top-notch, but are fine for us. Classrooms are clean and their design allows students to work well in small groups.

Would I pay 2x or 4x more to have better facilities? NO.

we attended OLV. It is diverse in the sense of people from various cultures. It is not what I would call racially diverse. It is more racially diverse, however, than Blessed Sacrament and Holy Trinity. Economically it is diverse I think in that there were middle income and high income people (of course this one assumes by looking at where classmates lived and parents’ work).

Small class sizes were a plus.
