PP. Salary increase by 50% to cover the extra 20-30 hours per week that I work unpaid. The job cannot be done in a 40 hour workweek. An alternative would be to hire staff who exclusively handle the paperwork and meetings part of the job. Since neither is likely to happen, I'm looking at other options. |

But it won’t make a difference. People can come back to teaching, but they won’t stay. We’ll simply have more of what we have now: people trying teaching for a year or two before burning out. Schools are revolving doors. Bring in new teachers, wear them out to the point of misery, and then watch them quit. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. What we need is longevity. We need people to STAY. |

Especially since teachers with experience are so much more skilled than the first and second years who are just trying to keep their heads above water, especially with all the behaviors we see now.
