European delivery/pick up programs

What's the upside? Assume this is only good if you are buying a special car not available in the US? Volvo gives you round trip tickets, is appealing if you already planned to buy a Volvo and like to travel, but not true for BMW and Mercedes. Am I missing something? DH is interested in the BMW wagon, which is apparently not being sold in the US, which is what made me look into it.

You're not going to be able to use ED to import a car that BMW doesn't sell here. The order still needs to be placed at a US dealer for a product they sell in the US.

You get some decent discounts off mSrp that can. E attractive.

It’s mostly for the experience- if you like the idea of a driving vacation in Europe, and want a new car, go for it.

My in-laws did it for their Volvo. Big benefit for them was they picked up the car at the factory in Sweden, spent a couple weeks driving it around Scandinavia, and then flew back to the U.S. and the car arrived a couple months later. If you have that kind of time I think it could be fun.
