holiday gifts for teachers

Anonymous
does anyone know if there are policies or practices for dcps? or charter? i know that our school does not celebrate holidays. do you give a gift? what do you usually give? i'd like to get something for the classroom teachers, but don't want to leave out all of the "specials" teachers, etc too. but it is a pretty long list!

Last year, in our DCPS, we gave out about 15 little gifts (homemade treats). We have 2 kids in the school, so a little something for all the teachers, incl. specials at others, who our kids had. Plus a Target GC for the two homeroom teachers.

On the other hand, a cup of coffee (small coffee shop gift card) is nice.

ask the room parent to collect donations (any amount) and split them evenly between teachers for grade in form of easy to use gift card or cash in envelope. Nice individual notes from students should be encouraged sent in as well.
