What grade? I know kids who got in off the waitlist for preK, K & 4th.

OP here: 9th grade.

Waitlists are likely done now until June. Schools went to their waitlists last week. In June you are hoping that someone might move or otherwise back out of paying the full bill.

Good luck! I have one kid in and one kid "waiting" on a different school (i.e. at this point we are going with plan B).

I gave up hope on the waitlist. Plan B is our best option, commute wise! Hello Plan B!!

Just FYI, my DD got off the wait list last year right before their spring break. It was a Friday afternoon that I got a email.

For 9th? I heard from the admissions staff that the yield was quite high last year (my DC got in at 9th), and they didn't expect any WL movement right away.

Yes, it was right around March 24th last year when we heard. Also for 9th grade. I did have our middle school director in constant contact and I believe it really helped. We didn't get as much financial aid as this year but it was a nice surprise.

We learned the hard way the first time though the private school search - don’t put any hope in the GDS or Maret WLs, they simply don’t move - Maret is too small and GDS, while larger just has too much demand and overuses the WL to such a great extent particularly for 9th that yield is high and WL is meaningless, other than for a very few special exceptions. Embrace your next best plan and don’t look back...

Yes, there's already movement, even if it's spring break.

Make sure to nicely touch base often (and figure out how to suggest the potential for future donations).

Does anyone specifically know of movement in the 9th grade wait pool? If so, boy or girl?
