ABA therapy in NOVA (Herndon, Reston, Sterling, Ashburn)? Any experience with Little Leaves?

Anonymous
Does anyone have experience with Little Leaves in Reston, VA for ABA therapy and speech therapy? DS is five years old and starting Kindergarten in the fall so we would like to get as much in as we can before September. He was recently diagnosed at KKI with "Autism Spectrum Disorder with associated language impairment". His CELF-P2 score showed mild impairment for the core language score and expressive language score, moderate impairment in receptive and language structure and average for language content.

DH and I have been haven't been as proactive as we should have, but now that we have this second diagnosis from KKII, we are trying to catch up and get on the ball. I just found out that my insurance will cover 60 visits per year of combined ABA and speech therapy. I am really behind so, any help is greatly appreciated.

check with all the ABA providers re: insurance. I would go with the one that it takes it, as ABA is very pricey. My recommendation is that you look for ST at the same time and start asap. The combination of both should help, not overnight, but the structure of ABA is very beneficial to some kids. Depending of your child needs, you might have to do ST twice per week at the begging. If you find a great ST provider and is out of network, my suggestion is to go for it if you can afford the out of network payment. Looking back, ST has played such an important role, I can't recommend it enough. Good luck with everything.
