Expectant and Postpartum Moms
I know this is completely superficial but one of the fun things I was looking forward to during pregnancy (besides the best part having the baby) was actually growing some breasts. I am at 16 weeks and still nada. Does not everyone get bigger breats?
I had the same question - I'm at 32 weeks and still nothing! I'm small chested so was also looking forward to experiencing bigger ones! My nipples have gotten bigger (unfortunately) but otherwise, no growth. I've read on this forum about women whose breasts don't grow but who are still able to breastfeed, if that's your concern. I guess you have to count your blessings (for me, no stretch marks).

Mine did not grow AT ALL until I delivered and my OB told me this is true of 50% of moms.
Then I went from a B to a DDD and boy was I sorry for all the wishing and waiting I did! |

Every pregnancy book I read says you'll go through multiple bra sizes during the 40 or so weeks. Yeah right! I'm 29 weeks and haven't needed a new bra. YES, they are bigger and filling out the bras better--but nothing like what these books make you think. Like the PP said, I think they will grow once I deliver and start feeding.
I've also noticed lots of women at my prenatal yoga classes that are still very modest in size in that area. |
Mine were huge by 20 weeks (I had to work hard at keeping them covered at work!) and even bigger after my milk came in. Once I stopped nursing a year after the birth, they were deflated and saggy.

I'm at almost 19 weeks and I think I've gone from a small A to a bigger A, or possibly even a small B. But certainly nothing impressive!
By the time I was 16 weeks I had gone from 34b to 36d. I'mnow 36 weeks and 38 D. I actually miss my smaller breasts, but not as much as I miss the smaller rest of me. I never thought I was slender until I compared a pic of me at 11 weeks and at 34 weeks!
I went from a full A to a full B around my 5th month, and stayed there. And then went back to a less-full A after the baby was born. My theory is that wherever you normally gain weight is where you will gain excess weight from the pregnancy. If you typically put on weight around the midsection, you're more likely to end up with a muffin top after the baby is born. If you normally gain weight in your butt/thighs and you go nuts on the milkshakes (like I did), after the baby is out, the weight you have to lose will probably be in your butt/thighs. If your boobs typically don't grow when you gain weight normally, they probably won't grow much in pregnancy either. Sorry, just calling it like i see it.

I had nothing in my first trimester. Then around 20 weeks, went up a cup size, at around 30-34 weeks, went up another (so B to a D) and have stayed there so far with 5 months of nursing, even after losing all my baby weight. i'd be really excited if they only went down one cup size after I'm done, but think that's too much to hope for. They'll probably be small and saggy soon enough...
Be glad if they don't...ugh, I went from a nice 34B to a 38D during my first pregnancy and they never got any smaller even when I was done breastfeeding. Now that I'm pregnant with my second they keep getting bigger. I'll never fit into any of my old tops or dresses again. Definitely getting a breast reduction if this keeps up.
I too was hoping for the "Titty Fairy" to bless me with her presence. At 38 weeks, I'm still waiting...
I just filled the cup fuller of my normal bras... never had to buy bigger. So sad. And now after breastfeeding they are smaller than they were to begin with.... very sad. ; (
