New video cameras on smartphones and action cameras. The video quality is amazing but.....

The footage looks amazing but the people being filmed do not move in real life time.
They move faster for some reason.
Anyone else notice this?
Why is that?

I am mainly taking about newer consumer video cameras.

The pricier broadcast video cameras used by television stations, news organizations do not have the sped up movements I am talking about here.

It sounds like some sort of motion correction. It can probably be turned off, if you can find the setting for it.

I guess many home video camera enthusiasts do not know how to turn it off because I see it in a lot of home video camera footage uploaded online.

Yes, definitely new video cameras on smartphones and action cameras can give you good quality of video in case if you need some kind of amateur one.
