Soccer teams that practice at Long Bridge Park (near Crystal City)?

I've been pondering my 2008 girl's soccer options for next year - there aren't many since we live on Capitol Hill. Other than CFC, are there any teams within a reasonable commute? Hence the topic heading - Long Bridge Park is super close to the Hill, and has a bunch of great fields. So I assume there must be a Virginia league that practices there/has it as the "home" field?

So Arlington use it. The 08 girls use it on Monday night for skill training. They also use gunston elementary and a few others for practice. They have used Virginia highland for games.

Arlington uses it, but whether your specific team will be there or some school field for training is a bit up in the air. I think they rotate around.

You could wind up at Williamsburg which is far.

There are currently no strong girls teams in DC for older girls.

There are girls from DC who play for Arlington, Bethesda, and McLean.

Yep, Arlington is the club that practices at Long Bridge. A lot of Hill kids (including mine) play for Arlington. There are number of CFC alums. CFC is a fine little club, and it has some strong teams. But not all the teams/age groups are strong.

Long Bridge is the closest to the Hill of the Arlington practice fields, and Virginia Highlands (the field just south of the Pentagon City Costco) isn’t much farther. But some of the fields are much less convenient to the Hill, and if you’re driving from DC, it’s a bear at rush hour, which is when the younger teams usually start practice. You can also have practices at many fields in a single season, so there’s no way to “choose” your practice field. You get where your team is assigned.

All that being said, Arlington is a well-run club, and it offers a lot more runway than CFC if that’s something that’s important to you/your kid.
