Baby Announcement

Anonymous
I learned from DCUM back before the birth of my first kid that if you mail a baby announcement to the White House, you get a nice response card "from" the President and First Lady. I did that for my son, which was fortunately during the Obama administration. We got it framed and it's a cool keepsake that hangs in his room.

My second is due in a few weeks, and I'd like to do something similar for her, but I'm 100% not down with the current administration. So, I'm trying to think of an alternative. Anyone know of any other cool/notable figures that might reply to baby announcements? My only idea so far is Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Doesn't necessarily have to be political, I suppose. I did try the Pope last time, but never got a response. Not sure I'd really want that these days, anyway.

Oh man I forgot about that! I'll just tell my second kid that we forgot to do it (which is true)

You can get video greetings from "celebrities" on Cameo:

I learned of this on a trashy podcast I listen to. Seems fun & harmless (but you do need to pay).

You can send it to the Obama Library. I sent my wedding announcement to Presidents Obama, W. Bush and Clinton, and got very nice responses from each President's office/library.

It doesn't have to be the sitting President to make it special!

What's the point of doing that?

I dont get what the point is. It's not like it's actually from the President himself.
