starbucks prices go up?

a couple days a week, i get a "short" mocha. a nice little pick me up that costs only $2.80. today i ordered as usual and she said the price went up to $3.34. bummer. there was something so great about getting the drink for under $3. anyway, did all of their prices go up or are they just trying to dissuade me from buying a short?

I love ordering shorts at starbuks - a great secret since they don't even have them priced on the board.

wait $3.34 for a short? starbucks is a rip-off and their coffee sucks. find a local shop where the espresso is sure to be better.

op here. i do also patronize two or three independent shops and all of the prices are right in line with starbucks. the independent shops don't offer a short mocha/latte. but i agree that the product is better.

I ordered a grande the other day and it was over $4. No wonder I stopped going to Starbucks back when the credit crunch started. Way too much money.

I've gone to local shops and honestly, it costs just as much. Which local shop sells a latte for cheaper? Not around here.

With SB, I get a free syrup if I use my SB card, and they're starting a rewards program in December.

Sorry, I'm a big SB fan. And, they're not anymore of a rip-off than any other coffee shop.

What about Dunkin'? No fans? I have to admit there's something quite tasty about the holiday coffees at Starbucks. Another smart idea to save moolah is to brew your own and buy creamer in your favorite flavor. I love French Vanilla!

try Micky D's. only 99c plus tax. i'm loving it.

I have one of the frequent shopper black cards that they offer - 10% off all items (at least until January - when it becomes more of a buy 9 get one 1 free - which equals out to about the same amount for me.)

Really? I've tried it, and I'm not a fan.

DDs is okay. Their lattes aren't that much cheaper though.

You could contact their customer service online and ask... they might even throw some coupons your way.

I'm addicted to their iced coffee. It's further away from my office than the 2 Starbucks's, but totally worth it.

I HATE Starbucks coffee, but love their drinks - the light frappucinos and the chai lattes (add a shot of vanilla), and the caffe mocha in particular.

I am hooked - it's my treat and between work and going to the gym and grocery shopping on the weekend, I'm around one almost every day. Guess I will ask for some Starbucks cards for Christmas.

For regular coffee, I love Dunkin Donuts and McDonald's is good too, but those places of course aren't as convenient as having a Starbucks on every corner.

Well,I wondered why my gingerbread latte was up 40 cents today. Now, I do know!

McD's is good but something about the gingerbread! I cannot resist!
