Is this about right?
My dog has been leaking urine regularly (sometimes one drop, sometimes a small puddle) for many months, and after ruling out UTIs, and going on prescription dog food for struvite crystals, without any change, the vet recommended scans to search for a physical abnormality in the urinary tract. Thoughts? |
That sounds good to me. My dog just finished his last chemo treatment. We had an ultrasound and the beginning and an ultrasound at the end, and they were $509 apiece - still have the paperwork in my purse.
They assume you have pet insurance. Insurance is now driving the cost, whether you have it or not.
Cost seems reasonable. Do you know what they are looking for?
Normal. I have run an equine facility for many years...I actually don’t think prices have gone up much at all. It has always been expensive. I recently had a horse undergo a surgical procedure and it was the same price as 1999. Pets are luxury items if you provide good care.
Ask to take a closer look at his kidneys. Mine had PKD, and it took too long to diagnose bc dogs rarely have it. Reg vet had no idea
Sounds right. I paid $450 about 6 years ago.
Male or female? Normal urinalysis? Spayed? If spayed female with normal urine, i would consider hormone responsive urinary incontinence first. Try stilbesterol or Proin.
We paid $500 for a shoulder ultrasound, so it sounds about right
And my very learned friend, what are the monitoring recommendations and the major side effects of estrogenic hormonal therapy? And what has the DEA said about PPA? |
