Since a lot of posts on this forum focus on the 6th - 8th grade levels of "performance" of DC area teams, here are Jeff. Cup results from top 3 brackets in each age group for DC area teams only. Results are in W-L-D sequence. Take these results or leave them, but they are factual, as opposed to a lot of opinion-based posts on this forum.

| Rough weekend for Loudon 07. |
Yes they do. Spirit MD and VA played at NCFC in November. |
| Judges did a good job ranking teams into brackets except perhaps Bethesda 06. Pretty much how the area teams rank by age group. |
Disagree |
The results were pretty consistent top to bottom for the most part. |
| The Bethesda '07s Blue Pre-ECNL team won in a lower bracket |
Not as bad as McLean ‘06 who was in very weak bracket and still lost each game miserably. |
Congratulations it’s a good result but it was the lower bracket. They lost in the final. There is a huge difference between the first bracket and the third...let alone the 8th in any tournament. In the Jeff Cup the difference is even bigger. In the top bracket MARYLAND UNITED FC 2007 RED made the final. BSC girls is different vs BSC boys. I think they are living off the rep of a few good class years. |
| BRYC played in lower bracket for u14 and lost in the finals. |
| I thought that Arlington 2008 red was the best 08 girls team in the area. I see that they lost to Loudoun Red last weekend and also lost all 3 games at Jeff Cup this weekend while Loudoun won their first 2 before losing with both teams in top bracket. Is there something going on with the Arlington team to explain these results? Was considering having DD tryout with Arlington 2008 this spring for next year because want her to play with high caliber team and everyone has been telling us they are the "team to beat" in the DMV. Loudoun is slightly closer. Anyone familiar with these 2 teams have any insight? We are new to the area. |
This thread is not for 08s or younger. Start a new thread please. |
You do not judge on one tournament since there are too many things in play. Kids can be sick/injured or they may just be off. These are both great teams so I would go with whatever is closer. The older they get the more soccer commitments so make your life easier. |
| Agreeed with above. League standing is probably the best measure. |

+1 Some teams can put together a string of strong games.
The U14 top bracket was impressive with a strong mix of ECNL and independent clubs. |
