4.4 GPA, 33 ACT - which schools?

Stars in subject line, plus top 10 currently (students not percentage) in public HS class with graduating class of 500ish. Lots of varied extra curriculars. Where to look at colleges?

You haven't told us anything about his/her personality, interests, or desire to go far away or stay close to home...so how can any anonymous person help you?

This isn't really a good questions to float out to DCUMland...but you already know that.

Naviance is your friend. Use the Supermatch feature to get ideas.

As others have said need to know preferences of your student. Also can you apply ED ?

I have a DD with similar stats last year and frankly it was a frustrating process. I would temper your expectations.

I would suggest The University of Harvard Community College State A&M East.

WTF...how in the hell are we supposed to know? We don't know anything about your kid besides the numbers. He/she is a human being...not a test score or GPA.

Sorry, here’s more info:

- issue going away from home
- budget isn’t a huge concern, that’s assuming she can get scholarships
- plays sports but wouldn’t get recruited as an athlete
- interested in engineering or architecture

Girl in engineering with those stats would get in nearly anywhere she wants to go and get some scholarships. Does she like big or small? Rural or urban? East coast, Midwest, west? How does she feel about two boys for every girl in the school or in her classes? If she wants a more balanced gender spread, then aim for larger universities where engineering is just one of many other colleges- but the classes will be heavily male.

If you are in VA, obvious choice is VT for Engineering and Architecture. UMD-CP if you are in Maryland.

She has a shot at the crapshoot schools if she has taken the harder math and science APs and scored well. (Physics C (Both), Chem, BC Calc)
