Why were charges on Singer filed in MA?

Is that where his offices were located? Just curious.

Because the money he THOUGHT was funneling to a Harvard administrator was actually being funneled to the feds in MA. That was the smoking gun.

I think the Boston FBI office worked the case. The investigation started with Morrie Tobin, after he had been caught in a stock fraud scheme, telling the feds about the Yale women’s soccer coach offering to sell him a recruit slot for his daughter. Not sure where those feds were based, but the FBI then arranged for Tobin to wear a wire and meet with the coach at a hotel in Boston. They recorded the coach requesting the bribe and taking a down payment, then he gave them Singer. Then Singer flipped & they recorded incriminating conversations with the parents.

The tip to the feds was that a guidance counselor noticed a student at her private school was being recruited for a sport the school didn’t have. That is probably what led to the guy wearing a wire.

The FBI commented on the fact that several of the schools were in Mass. I think he mentioned BU & BC in the conference. But, I can't totally remember.

Then call with a tip about what you know. This was only revealed because a guy caught in a pump and dump scheme who told the FBI about it.

Yes, please call the FBI with your suspicions. You don’t need to provide any proof. It’s THEIR job to prove it, not yours. This is important. Thank you.

I read an anonymous person has since come forward and says he was approached in 2011. It was a conversation about putting the kid on a water polo team for a few days. Singer seemed to have been doing this for a long time. Probably started with his friends and branched our from there. There are probably so many names that are both hidden and will never come out.
