Look, I don't love a lot of her crap, but seriously? She's posting about a kid who didn't do what was asked. My mom would probably have posted the same thing, 35 years ago, had social media been a thing.
She's not dissing Remy in the way you guys think. She's being honest. Remy didn't do what she was supposed to do. You guys clutching your pearls over this just puts paid to the fact that you all didn't grow up in the 70s/80s. Love, GenX |

A gross and stupid take. Shit like that happened to me, and that's WHY my heart broke for Remy. It was cruel to air her shit. This was a public flogging, and a thousand other adults joined in. What a humiliating thing to do to your child??? It's one thing to send that rant to your group chat, it's another to blast it to your huge platform and outline all the ways your kid failed to meet the bar. Cosigning on this! Totally normal take for the group text but so gross with your "audience". Also, it's not really the content but the tone for me. The tone just isn't playful and funny. It's mean and harsh. She used to do these takes and it felt lighthearted. Now it all feels mean spirited. |

A few lines about the dishes, etc, in a humorous tone would be fine.
A long rambling post with all the warmth of a freezer is not. If a writer was assigned to write a humorous piece on someone that really, really bugs them this would be it. Very passive aggressive. There is no equivalency between a mom hollering about a messy kitchen (happens all the time) and a nasty rant made public. Very passive aggressive. My theory is that she is trying to find her way back to what was successful for her- funny observations about kids and family life- but she has forgotten how. This is a person who needs to take a big step back, stop pretending, and heal the bitterness from the inside out. |

I can't tell from her writing if Remy is a spoiled, entitled, manipulative brat, or if she's a gaslighted, oblivious, on-the-spectrum victim.
If the first is true, I kind of get Jen's posts like the one about the dishes. If it's the second, it's just cruel. |
