I’m throwing my excavator-loving daughter an excavator themed 3rd birthday party. I’m trying to figure out how to get a “real” small excavator to park in front of my house for half an hour for the kids to check out without breaking the bank. Anyone ever done this and or have any ideas of where to look for something like this? Most of the equipment rental places I’ve found online seem to be out of my league. |
You'd have to rent one to actually use it. Take her to diggerland instead - must safer. No one is going to agree to do it for a kids birthday due to the liability. |
When is your daughters birthday? A nursery school in my neighborhood (Suburban Nursery) in Bethesda has a fund raiser every year in October called Truck Touch. They have tons of big trucks, including excavators, that kids can sit in. They also have face painting and a bake sale. It's a PITA if you live in the neighborhood since there are truck horns going all day and cars taking up every inch of every nearby street, but it would be a fun place to have a party. There's a little park behind the school with picnic benches and play equipment. |
I guess you're probably right. I took my older daughter to a truck touch a while back so I was hoping that there was some kind of company that would do this. I'll check out diggerland. Thanks. |
I looked for a truck touch but couldn't find one in the spring, when her birthday is. Maybe we'll check out the one in Bethesda. Thanks. |
Ok just Google
Virginia touch truck 2019 And you will see 3 in April. |
Um... what’s diggerland? |
+1 seriously! Sounds good. |
The DC truck touch is insane - they take over a parking lot at the old RFK stadium and it's literally every kind of truck and emergency vehicle you can imagine. Happens toward the end of June most years: https://twitter.com/mayorbowser/status/1012068617620541440?lang=en |
It’s a nj theme park. Yay google! |

I did Google but thought that perhaps PP was referring to something more local. |
