Follow my logic here do I need to stop if this happened? Picture a clock dial and the bus is stopping at 6 o'clock. I am pulling up simultaneously at 9 o'clock and making a left to go towards 12 o'clock. ( one other factor this is not at an intersection and the distance from me to the bus is at least 60-80 feet. So kids crossing are not in my immediate vicinity by a fair distance.
Since I am going left and not crossing the bus perimeter stop sign/ light did I violate anything by proceeding? In hindsight I wish I would've stopped but I am not sure if I violated any law. A car going from 12 -6 on that dial was stopped as he would've crossed the bus path he may have honked at me not sure. thanks |
| I'm pretty sure you didn't violate a law. If the kids were closer maybe? |

I'm trying to picture this where you aren't at an intersection. Was the bus further down the road, and you turned at an intersection? If so, I think that's fine. Presumably the car that stopped was just considerate and didn't want to block the intersection.
But you say it's not an intersection, so I can't figure out how you were turning. |
| ^^ I was turning onto a road out of a parking lot |
| I think you're fine since you didn't pass the bus. It's always a good idea to wait anyway just to be extra cautious. |
