I am looking for feedback on the Audobon Naturalist Society Camp in Chevy Chase. Any postive or negative experiences?
This would be for a rising 1st grader next summer. |
I've never managed to get a spot...members get first dibs...I even got up at 1150 one night to try to make the open registration at midnight, one year...no luck! |
I have heard good things 2d hand. |
I had a 5th and 3rd grader do the camp last year. They enjoyed it and it is a learning experience. |
It is very inexpensive to become a member and then get priority enrollment plus a tuition discount that is greater than the cost of becoming a member. |
Agree that it's definitely worth it to become a member for the priority and discount. My now-kindergartner liked her two classes last year; it was not her favorite camp, but she'll probably want to go back. |
I became a member ($50 annually for a family), which entitled me to register early and I had no problem with spots in two-week 1/2 day sessions for my rising 2nd grader (she was in the "Native America" camp) and preschooler (he was in the "Creepy Crawlies" camp). Both kids had a great time, learned a good amount, and I felt comfortable with the staff. It was our first experience and my preschooler's first camp experience. Nothing is perfect but we were pleased and plan to enroll for two weeks in 2010. |
