Ticket for taking two metered spaces

Anonymous
This is a new one to me. Got a ticket in DC for "not parked in meter space" and the note said "vehicle taking 2 meters spaces." Paid for parking using Park Mobile. The issue was that there was space for 2 cars and if I had parked in the "meter's space" another car couldn't fit. (There are no lines FWIW.) So trying to be nice, pulled up past the "space" so another car could fit. Got a $25 ticket. We park there regularly and never received a ticket before, despite never actually looking at where the meters are because we use Park Mobile not the meter. Anyone else gotten this?

Would it have been clearer if the cop had written ‘asshole!’ on the ticket for you?

You seem to have misunderstood. Have you ever murmured "asshole!" to the car who didn't pull up to the car in front so another car could fit? Because contrary to greedily taking two spaces, the car was parked so that another car could park there. Obviously doing so cost $25, so yes in the future I will be the asshole who takes the huge space.

Also, cops don't write parking tickets like these in DC.
