A big sheet of plastic got stuck under my car - burning smell. Did it damage my car?

Yesterday, a giant piece of packing bubble wrap got stuck under my car, and it seems melted. The rest of the day, I could smell burning plastic when I stopped and got out of my car, throughout the day. It's still there a little bit today.

I'm confident it's nothing else, as the car is only 3 years old, and it started as soon as the plastic got stuck.

Is/was this damaging to the vehicle?

Probably not, but the smell may be there for a good long while.

Mechanically no. Just be careful about getting smell in interior.
