Totally different programs--could not be more opposite in a way. Dorrance for decades has tried to recruit athletic and tries to out run and out kick opponents. In a lot of ways, the game has passed him by, he has failed to adjust, etc. I've been impressed with what FSU has done over the years. And, that final four team of Virginia in 2013 was one of the best ball-possession teams I have seen in college soccer. |

Last time I checked UNC made it to the finals last year. Yeah, the game has passed him by ... obviously. Oh and referencing a team from 6 years ago is relevant? Anyhow, yes FSU is good. Wow, that was tough to figure out. |

If you’re talking D1 then:
Any team in the ACC. Just about any team in the SEC. Norte Dame Stanford USC UCLA Georgetown West Virginia If you’re interested in your daughter playing at one or more of these, then have her go to their camps to get a feel for coaches, culture fit, and to get recognized. Then leverage your travel coach / club to make connections as well. Talk to current players if the club has relationships. Anyhow, those are all good programs and mostly all good schools. |

What does this mean? Stanford and UNC have the same number of athletic scholarships available for women's soccer, same as all other D1 programs. |

Desirable for what? To become a professional, to win a title, to get a good education?
Many kids use sports to get into a better school than their grades alone would allow them to attend. |

I have friends who played at top D3 programs (won National Championship) and had an incredible college experience. They could have played DI - just not top school at DI.
