Hi, I'm having Triplets late this summer. While I won't go back to work until November, I'd like to start a triplet nanny part time September - November alongside me and my husband to get to know the family and help out, and then eventually full time December 2019 - all of 2020. Do any of you have experience with multiples childcare? What would be your guess for a fair hourly or annual salary for a nanny with infant triplets (or is it even possible for one person?). How are nannies usually paid and do you provide other benefits? Other alternatives welcome too - I just assumed a nanny would be cheaper given 3 kids in childcare, but please correct my assumption if that's wrong.
Thank you!! |
You should be on the ‘parent with multiples’ group such as https://mcpom.org/ |
Congratulations! At least $30/hr for a competent professional nanny for your three babies. |
It may be harder to find someone qualified who would be willing to do it part time for the first few months. Might be easier to start at full-time from the beginning— you’ll need the help anyway. |
Do you think it’s unreasonable to start them full time but as a “night nurse” and in December transition to the day?
Where is the best place to find a qualified nanny for triplets? |
You may find that. Join the twin/triplet organizations. That would be best. Other families may be phasing out the nanny. |
Start with a full time nanny as soon as you are home from the hospital. At least $30/hour. Maybe $35. |
You will need more than one nanny. I would not trust one nanny to be able to handle three. And don't be cheap. |
Thanks so much all! |
Triplets: I would use several part time. There is s book about a couple who did. Old now but still useful. Congrats & good luck ! |
I only had twins- but with triplets you will need more than one nanny. You will see why once your babies arrive!! Pay generously. |
Triplets!! $45/hr |
Wow. Congrats on your pregnancy and best of luck! |
I would take care of them for $45/hour. |
I would use a center. Much better set up than a nanny for 3 babies. And I say that as someone who used a nanny. |
