In the checkout aisle at the grocery store, I flipped through a magazine with ides fo Thanksgiving meal side dishes. It had a recipe that looked good, involving cauliflower and white wine vinegar. For the life of me I can't remember which magazine it was though. Maybe Martha Stewart?
If the recipe rings any bells I'd really appreciate you telling me where I can find it. |
| I don't think this has vinegar, but raw or lightly cooked cauliflower and broccoli tossed with ranch dressing, cheddar cheese and bacon bits and served chilled-yum! |
| Thanks -- that one looks great too! BUt a little too fussy. THe one I saw was more liked a pickled recipe. I'll keep looking. |
| Barefoot Contessa has a recipe a good recipe. But really all you need to do to make a yummy cauliflower dish is roast the florets with olive oil, salt and pepper, and then sprinkle with gruyere cheese when done. |
I agree! Besides pickled dishes could be a big hit or major flop. |
| Not just cauliflower. For most winter vegetables, roasting with salt, pepper and olive oil is delicious. Just did it with brussel sprouts tonight (while roasting a chicken) and the brussel sprouts were phenomenal. |
| I recently made Cauliflower Francios (sp?). Take the a head of cauliflower and slice it into thick slices. dredge it in flower and then egg and then seasoned bread crumbs. Bake at 350 until soft - approx 45 mins. It was super yummy! |
| OP, I often marinate bite-sized florets of broccoli and cauliflower in vinegar, a little oil, and whatever herbs I have on hand. Makes a delicious healthy snack. |

Thanks everyone!
I finally found the recipe -- Martha Stewarts Marinated Cauliflower salad. http://tagskitchen.com/marinated-cauliflower-salad All the other ideas look great too, but I'm going to do this one because I bought some really nice white wine vinegar and capers already, but then couldn't find the recipe. PLus, I think we need a little foil to all the cream and cheese heavy side dishes. |
| OP again. I just made the above marinated cauliflower recipe in prep for tomorrow and WOW!!! it is quite good. Just thought I'd share! |

Not the OP but I made this tonight and it was fantastic! DH even liked it and he hates to eat vegetables. |
