Bumping this -- we're considering it for the DCPS midwinter break and would love to hear from anyone whose kids have taken classes/camps here. Thanks!

I did it for my four year old daughter. She really enjoyed it, but we only did it for about two weeks so I have limited input. It’s pretty small, so I’m not sure it’s great for the whole summer, but a really great option for a few weeks.

It’s totally fine. More aimed at younger kids. My kid loved it when she was 5-6.

It’s a strange place. Without going into details, the director was unkind to my son, and I would never send him there again. I think she feels that boys should not be interested in art, as a couple of other parents I’ve spoken with have had similar experiences.

Does anyone know if they're flexible on their drop-off time?

We're interested in the program but 8:30am is a late drop off when we're supposed to be at work by 8!

Left a vm but interested in others' experiences

This is the PP who was asking about the camp for the February break. We did end up sending our daughter this week, and she’s really enjoyed it and has been making some fun art. Sorry to hear about the negative experience the PP had with her son there, though. For what it’s worth, it turns out one of my colleagues sent her son there for years - my colleague says he had a great time and when she mentioned to him that our kid was going this week, he said he wished he could go back.

I’ve sent two of my kids there: one for a week long camp and another for their weekly classes, for I think 8 weeks or so? Both my kids liked it. I think for the 8 year old, after the week was over she was done. But when they are 5-6, two weeks seems like It will still be fun to show up every morning. Every day is something new and it’s a calm and bright space for kids to be in. Very different from most camps.
