fever in the morning and then gone

Has anyone else's child had a high fever (102.3) in the morning for about an hour, and then 5 hours later---gone? Seems odd that it would be so short-lived, but I'll take it. I did give him motrin, but only once.

Motrin can last up to 8 hours. Take it again in a few hours.

Motrin removed the fever, isn’t that the point? Fevers tend to come back because you’re curing the symptom, not the cause, with the medicine. My guess is it’ll spike tonight.

Yes, thanks. Ususally my child's tend to hover in the 99.5 range, not down to normal temp so it was just odd to me.
