Looking for feedback on experience with liposuction, cool sculpting - and the like.
This is for DH, who is 59. Not looking for diet advice, or exercise advice as he already knows what he should and should not do. That said, it's gotten to the point where he needs a big jump start to help get rid of all the dangerous belly fat he's developed in the last few years. TIA! |
| I have had it. It is not going to get rid of huge amounts of fat - rather, it would sculpt areas where he may have lost already. I would not recommend it for a jump start. |
| I've always been tempted to get it since I seem to have stubborn love handles but I've always heard that fat will come back in other places. Wondering if that's true? |

It doesn't really "come back" in other places, but the fat cells in other places will expand more when you gain weight. I had flank lipo with a tummy tuck, and when I gain weight it shows up more in my thighs/butt and upper arms. That said, I have no regrets.
To OP -- most important thing to know -- Real lipo is extremely painful. Extremely. For a long time afterward. |

| Liposuction is more for fine tuning; removing fat from a stubborn area that still exists even when you are at an ideal weight. it is not for people who are still significantly overweight and can not control their diet. Even if they were to remove all his belly fat if he continues to overeat he will just gain that weight/fill up fat cells somewhere else. |
+1. This is not diet or exercise related, and it’s a bit disgusting to post here, where people are actually making an effort to improve themselves the old-fashioned way. |

One last point.
If his "dangerous belly" fat is more visceral fat than subcutaneous fat, lipo won't help. He will need to change his diet and add exercise... Google it. Most pot bellies or large abdominal fat bellies are VISCERAL fat, and lipo won't help. |
