What do you wear to a 50th birthday party?

We are invited to a 50th with dinner and dancing. Not a particularly fancy venue. No mention of attire on invite. I am in my mid-30's. What should I wear?

cocktail style dress? Nothing too revealing, and something you can dance in.

You could always call and ask. or get the opinion of someone else that is going.
