5yr old just ate all of his dinner and asked if he could also have a pbj sandwich. |
I do. If my kid is hungry and not angling for sweet stuff. PB&J, some plain yogurt, cheese sticks, apple and peanut butter ...
Kids have growth spurts. Was he out in the snow today? That burns a ton of energy. |
Sure. Why wouldn’t you? |
I would give him seconds of dinner, but I personally not make a sandwich |
It would really not likely that my kids would eat all of their dinner including vegetables. But if they did I would probably say ok to PB & J. Most likely I would offer fruit bc my kids should eat more fruits and veggies. |
Of course. |
yes |
Wtf?. Why not? |
I would. Mine asks for milk very occasionally before bed if she didn't have enough dinner. I give her milk or banana since otherwise she'll wake up at 5 hungry. It's not a regular occurrence (maybe once a month) |
You would really deny a hungry child food?
Give him seconds or a sandwich, if you can afford it. I guess I can see if you’re food insecure, you might not be able to. |
I’d give more dinner or anything reasonably healthy - cheese sticks, fruit, veg/hummus, hard boiled eggs. Our DS13 gets to have a snack/treat after shower before bed each night if he chooses, our DD5 cannot have sweets in the evening or she gets too wound up. |
I don’t understand all these posts acting like he asked for a chocolate bar or cookies. Make him the sandwich. |
So give him a pbj sandwich. How and why is this a question. |
My kid can have as much as she wants as long as reasonably healthy. She generally eats a decent amount of dinner and then like five snacks of fruit. |
Yes!!!!!! There will be times when your child has a ravenous appetite out of nowhere. Feed them! |
