Danke, wie ich dachte.

| No highly rated or lowly rated. |
| This probably doesn't help, but I can only think of a few privates that offer German. |

Once you child is in 8th grade, you should be able to secure permission to take German 1 at the High School as long as the child qualifies. You may find yourself providing transportation to and from the school.
If your child is ALREADY taking German, call the MCPS Language office and ask for options. If I can suggest something, be super respectful and grateful for every little favor. No one takes a job at the central office to deal with irate parents. |

This is the DC school board. |

Ask the question differently.....
Do any DC public schools offer German. I do not believe this is a language choice at any middle or high school in DC |
You are correct. |
| If you want German instruction, contact the Goethe Institut. I bet they have classes or else a list of local options. I don't know of any DC public or public charter that offers German. I suspect the demand or perceived demand is low. |
School Without Walls HS offers German, building out a full series of courses in collaboration with the Goethe Institute. It's by no means on solid footing yet but a promising development. Once/if there is a solid funding stream for German at SWW, I would think the best candidate to ever offer German in middle school would be Francis-Stevens MS. But that is reading tea leaves... |
And going to SWW @ FS is no guarantee of gaining admission to SWW HS. |
