| They are the only ones that seem to still have clinics scheduled next week. |
| OP - also Prince William County? Are they verifying residency? |
| When we went to FFX, they asked for address but did not check ID. (DC also asked for address, which I truthfully gave as Virginia, and they didn't bat an eyelash.) I phoned PWC and they said that although the clinics exist for their residents, they wouldn't turn us away. |

I'm not sure. We got there just a couple minutes after 5 today (my daughter gets off the bus at 4:40, so we drove straight over and that was as soon as we could get there), and they were already at capacity.
It's certainly not easy to get a vaccine for school aged kids with asthma in fairfax county. I've been trying not to pull them out of school for the vaccine, but I just might have to. (we were out of town last Saturday when they did their first clinic that included kids over age 5) |
If you go to the Fairfax County Government website you can sign up for phone alerts. Every clinic Fairfax has run at the Government Center has been opened up to the older children because towards 2pm/3pm the lines die down and you can walk in. I've gotten alerts from them at 3pm last weekend and the weekend before that they opened the clinics for other ages. |
This is an example - uoted text - Fairfax County’s H1N1 flu clinic has been expanded to offer vaccinations to all children, ages 6 months to 18 years, and pregnant women based on the amount of vaccine available and lower than expected turnout. The clinic will operate until 5 p.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Fairfax County Parkway, Fairfax. For more details, visit www.fairfaxcounty.gov/flu or call 703-267-3511. | Have those phone messages ever opened it up to healthy adults? |
They are phone and email alerts for all Fairfax emergencies or important updates. No, but when we went late on Saturday and no one was there the nurse was happy to vaccinate DH and me. Granted we have an older infant. They also vaccinated my mother who works at the Government Center. So.... although they have not opened it up publicly they certainly will vac you if no one is waiting and if you are with a small child. |
PW County (Manassas Mall) did not care that my form stated my Maryland address. It wasn't even brought up. I called in advance to ask and they answered with, "No one will be turned away." |
| Nope--I went to Mt Vernon from Montgomery County on Tuesday for my toddler and the form even had a space to check for "out of state". Never had to produce my ID, just put my address on the form. Very well organized and efficient, too, BTW. |

Thank you. Now I just have to figure out how anal to be on the day of the clinic. I was one of those 5am'ers a month ago for DD's first dose. It'll be harder if we have to go from MoCo to PWC, but worth it to have it done.
Have the lines been long at Manassas Mall at the Saturday clinics? |
| When I called Fairfax they said their clinics were for Fairfax residents only, but that it was on the "honor system" and they wouldn't be verifying residency. The Arlington and DC clinics are not residency-restricted. |
| I have been to FFX and Manassas clinics. They make you fill out the consent form with your address but no one challenges your right to get the shot based on where you live. |
Same here. Went to the Fairfax City location this week and put down my MD address. No one said a thing. |
Thanks, I guess I'll keep trying. We're near Tysons and she gets out of school so late that getting anywhere by 5 is nearly impossible because of traffic...but it's got to happen sooner or later, right?
