My kids struggle with their 3 in 1 Columbia jackets daily. I want to get something warm that they'll like to wear next year. It's multi purpose as we do go snowboarding/skiing a couple times a year.
What's your thoughts about this jacket? https://www.patagonia.com/product/boys-snowshot-ski-snowboard-jacket/191743086335.html?cgid=web-specials-kids |
I think it's fine, but you're definitely paying for the name. Althought I definitely understand the 3-1 issue, the jacket you posted doesn't appear any warmer or less prone to being grown out of than this coat (which is also not 3 in 1): https://www.landsend.com/products/boys-squall-waterproof-winter-parka/id_333638?sku_0=::616 It's much cheaper and you can get a discount code. Face it, OP. You want to buy them Patagonia. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's probably not a good deal. |

| Not at the end of the season. $50-70 maybe. Its almost spring, wait till next year or a summer clearance. |

This is a great jacket, it’s what my DS’ ski team in Colorado used for their team jackets and they last. I think it’s a decent deal—Patagonia doesn’t get marked down as much as other brands. Maybe you could find them for less used.
I think the other PPs are just brand-name adverse—they probably stock up on the $15 Macy’s coats. |
You get what you pay for. Yes, you’re paying for the name, but it IS good quality, and as a company, I’d much rather support Patagonia as opposed to, say, Canada Goose. |
| No, not a good deal. What's wrong with their Columbia? |
Yes, good deal. Since it’s end of season, buy a size up if you can. |
What discount code? I'm not seeing any. |
| There's as code at the top of the page. The coat is already discounted $49 |
