Getting a birthmark removed

Has anyone done this? I have one on my face and I am tired of covering it up with makeup or people telling me I have dirt on my face. I saw a dermatologist years ago for another issue and he told me to not bother because it wasn't dark enough, but I'm wondering if with all of the laser technology things would be different. Also, I assume I would see a plastic surgeon and not a dermatologist for this since it is cosmetic? TIA.

What does it look like? They may be able to freeze it off. I had a dime-sized freckle on my face (very prominent, right under my eye) and I always thought it was very noticeable and got tired of covering it up. I thought it was some kind of a fungal thing (because a dermatologist told me one time that it was) but i went to Dr. Yolanda Holmes and she sprayed it with something after which it dried up and fell off.
Here is her info.

Not OP but did the spray somehow dry up the top layer of the skin and cause new collagen to grow?

OP... thanks for the response. It is about the size of a quarter and it is very light, but it is right by my mouth. I am guessing most people don't really notice it at all but it just really bothers me. Any other responses would be appreciated!

I assume so. She sprayed it and it felt really cold. Then it got MUCH darker over the next week or so (I guess as it was dying off) and it eventually just peeled off. I have no scar or anything from it now. It looks like it was never there. I should also add that insurance does not pay for this, but it is not that expensive. She also removed quite a few skin tags from my neck (thank you pregnancy hormones) and did this for $150.
