Glute activation

Do you only do this before working out your legs? Or before HIIT? When is the best time to do this?

Everyday during warm up. Glute activation has to be trained until it is instinctive, modern peeps have lost that instinct so we have to re-learn

Do this before so glutes are firing the medius and maximus muscles, they become dormant from prolonged sitting

Basically you use your glutes to do things like jog, run, swim, squat, deadlift, HIIT, aerobics...etc and if the muscles are not firing properly other muscles take over such as the quads since the glutes shutdown and leads to sore knees and back pain when engaging in activities that rely on any hip extension exercise.

Google glute actvation exercises and do them before a workout or everyday if they don't activate due to tightness of the hips. It may take awhile if you're new but with correct technique the mind muscle connection will start to develop and will pay dividends when you exercise and not to mention improve your overall health. Remember to squeeze the glutes hard while activating.
